Standard Equipment

SofTouch™:

Patented method of gentle approach of the probe to the sample avoids damage to the sample surface (particularly in soft samples).

Q-Lithic™ Solid Granite Stage:

Solid granite base and support arch, motorized Z-axis with fully automatic approach and a motorized and programmable R-Theta positioning platform with a vacuum chuck excepting 200mm diameter samples. Can hold up to 240mm diameter samples and scan anywhere on a 200mm diameter area. Up to 24 locations can be pre-programmed and automatically scanned and resulting images saving.

Isotopic Focal System™:
Patented optical system which allows the laser beam to track the cantilever/probe during scanning, greatly increasing sensitivity and virtually eliminating laser light reflections from the sample. It also permits for a 90 degree top-down view, providing for easy laser alignment and positioning of the probe over sample features to be scanned.

AnaLoop™:
Patented analog feedback loop that is digitally controlled with inputs from the keyboard or mouse. It combines the advantages of an analog loop, such as no quantizing errors, with a sampling frequency that is three times faster than current digital feedback loops, obtaining three times the number of data points at equivalent scan rates.

Fast and Automatic Approach:
The beta version of a totally automatic approach has been released that drives the probe toward the sample surface at high speed until it first senses the surface. Then it changes to a slow, soft approach that allows the probe to gently engage the surface and enter feedback condition.

Premounted Cantilevers:
Convenient mounting on stainless steel tabs allows for quick and easy replacement of probes. Quesant supplies contact and intermittent contact probes along with high aspect ratio, Magnetic Force, and metal coated probes (for hardness or conductivity).

ScanAtomic™:
User friendly software operating under Microsoft Windows 98. The software enables the operator to perform even complex operations with ease through selecting menu options in windows organized by functions. Images are displayed at a high screen resolution of 1024 x 768 with 65,000 colors.

CD/DVD Analysis Software:
The Q-Scope 400 comes with industry specific analysis software that can display and print the height, width, lenght and all four sidewall angles of every pit/bump in an image. "Clicking" on a specific pit/bump will give this same information for it. Critical information such as track pitch, T3 - T11 analysis, surface roughness, height vs. length and much more can be automatically computed and displayed and/or printed.
